Cam Newton shuts down heckler by reminding him, 'I'm rich'

After one mostly uneventful season with the New England Patriots, veteran quarterback Cam Newton will likely be back on the free agent market this offseason.

While that may be a concern for some players, Newton can take comfort in the fact that he already has made more than $122 million in salary over his 10 seasons in the NFL. (And that's before any additional millions in endorsements.)

However, one young fan at a regional 7-on-7 football tournament during the weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, seemed particularly worried about the 2015 NFL MVP's financial future. The young man heckled Newton over his employment status in a video that quickly went viral.

"You're a free agent. You're gonna be poor," he told Newton.

But the quarterback, demonstrating calmness under pressure, simply smiled and repeated several times: "I'm rich!"
