Aaron Rodgers' best moments as guest host of 'Jeopardy!'

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been trying out a new career over the last couple of weeks serving as Jeopardy!‘s guest host. Following the tragic passing of Alex Trebek last November, Jeopardy! has been hosting several guest-host stints as a way to find Trebek’s permanent replacement.

Rodgers’ stint as Jeopardy!‘s guest host has been met mostly with praise, which has many already calling for him to land the permanent gig. Whether that happens remains to be seen, as there are still several guest hosts waiting in the wings, including FOX Sports announcer Joe Buck.

Now that Rodgers’ stint as guest host is in the books, let’s take a look back at the most memorable moments from his two weeks hosting Jeopardy!

The moment when a contestant trolled Rodgers about the NFC Championship Game

It didn’t take long for the highlights to start rolling in. In Rodgers’ first episode as Jeopardy‘s guest host, one contestant had some fun at Rodgers’ — and Packers fans’ — expense with his answer to the “Final Jeopardy” question.

That contestant took a shot at the Packers’ late field goal in their NFC Championship Game loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“Who wanted to kick that field goal?”

The response left Rodgers smirking and the audience laughing.

“That’s a great question,” Rodgers answered, without missing a beat.

The moment when Rodgers was left stunned by contestants missing a Packers question.

With Rodgers serving as guest host on Jeopardy! you just knew there was going to be a Packers question somewhere in there. And there was. Unfortunately, no one knew the answer.

“In the 1960s these Midwesterners earned 5 NFL Championship trophies.”

Rodgers got his chance to tease the contestants after they were unable to answer a question about the Packers. It didn’t help that they were able to answer a question about the Boston Celtics just moments later, which led to Rodgers’ dig.

“Oh, you know that one, huh?”

The moment when Rodgers had funny exchange with contestant about being 'football cousins.'

Rodgers had a little bit of fun exchange with a contestant named Pasquale during the opening of one of the episodes, where there was an “interesting football connection” with Rodgers.

Pasquale proceeded to do a little Six Degrees of Separation with football coaches over the years, eventually connecting himself to Rodgers through Vince Lombardi.

“So we’re football cousins,” Pasquale said.

“Four degrees of separation there,” Rodgers said.

“Hey, it’s better than six!” Pasquale said.

The moment when Rodgers had some playful banter with a contestant.

Another funny exchange between Rodgers and a contestant came with a woman named Lindsay. At the top of the show, Lindsay explained that people always seem to call her Ashley.

“Alright, Ashley,” Rodgers joked.

But it sounds like that friendly banter continued off camera, as The Ringer noted this interesting tidbit.

Later, Rodgers continued to call her Ashley in all their subsequent off-camera interactions. Wilcox, who is a teacher, says, “I’m very excited to impress all these middle schoolers that Aaron Rodgers and I basically have an inside joke.”

It’s pretty cool to have an inside joke with a future Hall of Fame quarterback.

The moment when Rodgers raised $236,725 for charity.

Following Rodgers’ final episode as Jeopardy!‘s guest host, it was announced that the show would be donating $236,725 to the North Valley Community Foundation, which is pretty freaking cool.

The Packers Twitter account had a little bit of fun in sharing the news.
