NBA players react to Damian Lillard's 55-point performance

Damian Lillard drills an NBA playoff-record 12 3-pointers in the Blazers' double-overtime loss to the Nuggets.

Damian Lillard lit up the Nuggets for 55 points in a Game 5 loss Tuesday.

Damian Lillard drained 3-pointer after 3-pointer on Tuesday night, finishing with 55 points and nearly willing the Portland Trail Blazers to a huge comeback victory against the Denver Nuggets.

Instead, the Nuggets held off the Blazers in double overtime, winning 147-140 to take a 3-2 series edge.

Lillard became the first player in NBA playoff history to score for 55 points with double-digit assists. He also hit an NBA playoff-record 12 threes. He made 17 of 24 shots, 12 of 17 threes and 9 of 10 free throws. Lillard also had a steal, three blocks and one turnover in 51 minutes.

In short, it was one of the most electrifying postseason performances in NBA history, and players across the league took to social media to share their amazement.
