Full roster of 2021 Team WNBA All Stars with potential snubs

After weeks of voting, we officially know who will be playing in the 2021 WNBA All-Star Game. The game is scheduled to take place July 14 at 7 p.m. ET at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will air on ESPN.

This year’s All-Star game will be different from previous seasons, which featured the best players from the Eastern and Western Conferences. This time around, it will be the 2021 WNBA All-Stars playing Team USA on ESPN. The roster for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Women’s Basketball Team was unveiled earlier this month, and includes the likes of Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart, Tina Charles, A’ja Wilson, and more.

Candace Parker, Chicago Sky (6th All-Star Selection)
Liz Cambage, Las Vegas Aces (4th All-Star Selection)
Satou Sabally, Dallas Wings (1st All-Star Selection)
Jonquel Jones, Connecticut Sky (3rd All-Star Selection)
Brionna Jones, Connecticut Sky (1st All-Star Selection)

The WNBA coaches and voters did an overall good job with the frontcourt selections for the 2021 WNBA All-Star Game. The only notable snub that you could potentially make a case for is Atlanta Dream forward Tiffany Hayes. Hayes along with Courtney Williams have the Dream playing competitive hoops. Hayes is averaging 17.6 points per game, which ranks second behind Betnijah Laney for most points for second round picks this season.

I thought the guard position selections were on point, especially with the picks of Williams, Ogunbowale, and Laney. All three players are certified scorers and deserved to be honored for their play this season. However, I will say it’s a surprise to see that we don’t have a single Fever player in the All-Star Game. I understand that they have the worst record in the league at 1-15, but no consideration for Kelsey Mitchell?
