Aaron Rodgers offers cryptic response on Packers status during ‘The Match’

Aaron Rodgers is keeping everyone guessing.

Asked by TNT’s Brian Anderson during Tuesday’s “The Match” golf event whether he’d be under center for the Packers against the Bears in Week 1, Rodgers said, “I don’t know, we’ll see.”

Rodgers’ rift with the Packers front office has been very public and messy since the NFL Draft, when reports first surfaced that the 37-year-old wanted out of Green Bay.

The reigning NFL MVP told Kenny Mayne on Mayne’s final “SportsCenter” in May that his issues with the organization have nothing to do with the first-round selection of quarterback Jordan Love last year.

“It’s just kind of about a philosophy and maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go. It’s about character, it’s about culture, it’s about doing things the right way,” Rodgers said then.

It’s unclear whether Rodgers, who has spent his entire 16-year career with the Packers and won Super Bowl XLV, will report to training camp later this month.

Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported last month that Rodgers “still wants out.”

Rodgers was playing in “The Match” in Montana, teaming up with Bryson DeChambeau against the pairing of Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson.

Rodgers and DeChambeau ended up defeating the Brady and Mickelson 3 and 2 in the modified alternate-shot format in the made-for-TV celebrity event on the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course located at 7,500-feet elevation.
