Cat alert at Yankee Stadium!

On Monday, during the New York Yankees' game against the Baltimore Orioles, play was halted in the bottom of the eighth after a cat wandered onto the field. The Yankee Stadium grounds crew was tasked with rescuing the cat, but no matter how hard they tried, it eluded their grasp at every turn as the delay took a few minutes to be resolved.

Much like other cats on the field at major sporting events, the real joy of the moment came from the fan reaction and the broadcasters' commentary of the event, with Yankees fans chanting “MVP” and “let’s go cat” as it scampered along the outer walls of the field.

The Orioles broadcast was equally overjoyed by the cat and also worried for the safety of the lost animal.

Of course, as hilarious and adorable as this moment is, it was certainly a terrifying experience for the cat and let’s just hope the cat is in good hands now that it is safely off the field.
