After the first full week of the 2021 college football season, the SEC is already asserting its dominance as the conference landed three teams in the top five of the new Coaches Poll released Tuesday. Alabama remained atop the poll at No. 1, but Georgia rose three spots to No. 2 after defeating Clemson, while Texas A&M crept up a spot to No. 5 following its victory over Kent State.

A fourth SEC team, Florida, moved up two spots to No. 9. It wasn't all good news for the league, however, as LSU dropped from No. 13 to unranked following its 38-27 loss at UCLA. Ole Miss also received a five-spot bump to No. 20 following its 43-24 win over Louisville on Monday night, while Auburn finished just outside the top 25 with 123 votes.

UCLA's victory over LSU earned the Bruins a No. 16 ranking after they were unranked entering Week 1 action, and Virginia Tech also earned a big bump by rising from unranked to No. 21 following a victory over North Carolina.
