Steelers offensive lineman Trai Turner ejected for apparently spitting on opponent

Pittsburgh Steelers guard Trai Turner was ejected from Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders when he appeared to spit on a Raiders player.

The incident occurred in the fourth quarter of the game in Pittsburgh after Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had just connected with rookie running back Najee Harris on a 25-yard touchdown pass to cut the Raiders' lead to 16-13. It was Harris' first NFL touchdown.

After the score, Turner and Raiders defensive lineman Solomon Thomas got into an altercation. Both players were assessed penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct, which offset each other. However, Turner was disqualified from the game.

Turner, a five-time Pro Bowl guard, is in his first season with the Steelers after spending his first six years with the Carolina Panthers and last season with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Raiders eventually won 26-17.
