Monday Night Football Top Moments: Dallas Cowboys dominate Philadelphia Eagles

Updated Sep. 27, 2021 11:45 p.m. ET

What's better than a regular Monday Night Football game? How about an NFC East matchup to raise the stakes?

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys played host to Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in a divisional matchup Monday, with sole possession of first place in the NFC East on the line.

By the end of the night, the Cowboys sat alone atop the division.

The Eagles never presented much of a challenge for the Cowboys, with the Dallas offense clicking on all cylinders while the defense allowed only two touchdowns on the way to a 41-21 win.

Prescott tossed three touchdown passes in his first game at AT&T Stadium since he fractured his ankle last season.

Here are the top moments from the matchup.

Dallas Cowboys 41, Philadelphia Eagles 21

The Cowboys couldn't have scripted a better opening drive, moving 75 yards in just six plays to take a 7-0 lead.

A 44-yard bomb from Prescott to CeeDee Lamb put the Cowboys in scoring position before the drive was finished by a 1-yard rushing touchdown from Ezekiel Elliott.

While the offense's start was impressive, so was that of the Cowboys' defense.

Cornerback Anthony Brown intercepted a pass from Hurts to give the Cowboys possession for the second time less than five minutes into the game.

The Eagles quickly struck back to even things up.

Defensive lineman Javon Hargrave sacked Prescott in the end zone and forced a fumble, which was recovered by Fletcher Cox to tie the game 7-7.

The Cowboys were able to make up for the turnover on their next drive, with Prescott connecting with tight end Dalton Schultz to take a 14-7 lead.

It didn't stop there for the Cowboys, as they added to their lead with another rushing touchdown from Elliott.

When the second half began, it was more of the same for the Cowboys' defense.

Trevon Diggs recorded his third interception of the season — and second returned for a touchdown — to give the Cowboys a 27-7 lead in the third quarter.

It took nearly three full quarters, but the Eagles' offense finally scored some points, via a touchdown pass from Hurts to tight end Zach Ertz.

But it was the Cowboys' night, and they converted a fourth down into a touchdown to take a 34-14 lead in the fourth quarter.

This time, it was Prescott tossing his second TD pass, with Cedrick Wilson on the receiving end.

By the end of the night, the Cowboys had totaled 380 yards and 27 first downs on their way to a 41-21 win.
