Sophomore quarterback Bryce Young is favored to be Alabama’s second straight Heisman winner. After passing for 421 yards against Georgia on Saturday, he has thrown for 43 touchdowns with just four interceptions and has his team ranked No. 1 in the country.

C.J. Stroud, Ohio State’s quarterback, was more of a front-runner before a loss at Michigan last month. But he still has stellar numbers: 3,862 passing yards — good for second in school history — 38 touchdowns and five interceptions. And he’s just a redshirt freshman.

Remember Dan Marino? Kenny Pickett broke a bunch of his records at Pittsburgh this season. He has 47 touchdowns this year, including five rushing scores, and 4,560 yards of total offense, the most of any 2021 Heisman finalist.

The only defensive player to win the Heisman? Michigan’s Charles Woodson in 1997. Now another Wolverine is in the mix. Aidan Hutchinson, a defensive end, has 58 tackles, 14 sacks and two forced fumbles. Six of his sacks came against Penn State and Ohio State.
