'Make up your damn mind': Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield sounds off on NFL's COVID protocols

The Omicron variant of COVID-19 is causing problems for professional sports organizations all over. From the NBA to the NHL and even the NFL, leagues are struggling to contain outbreaks across teams.

On Thursday, the NFL updated their COVID protocols in an effort to combat the spread, with mandates such as mandatory masking and virtual meetings set to be in effect immediately. One of the more interesting aspects of the new protocol is the mandates for fully vaccinated players, as a vaccinated and asymptomatic player can return to play in as little as a day as long as they test negative with a regular test and a rapid test.

That change, however, isn't sitting well with Baker Mayfield, quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, who also tested positive for COVID just one day ago.

Mayfield isn't alone in sharing his feelings on the NFL's handling of COVID-19 this season, as Browns' defensive end Myles Garrett also spoke on the league's protocols on Thursday.

It's clear there's frustration starting to boil over from NFL players on COVID protocols and just the state of things in general. The swift return of a new variant and the rapid pace in which players have been put in protocol have escalated dramatically over the last week or so, and not just in the NFL either.
