Florida State handed No. 6 Duke its second loss in the Blue Devils' last four games, with RayQuan Evans sinking two free throws with 12.3 seconds left in overtime to give the Seminoles a 79-78 victory on Tuesday. For the Seminoles, it marked their fourth straight win and could indicate that Leonard Hamilton's bunch is rounding into the form voters projected when they ranked the Seminoles in the preseason Associated Press Top 25.

The Blue Devils outshot the Seminoles from the field, but Florida State's generation of second and third chances on the offensive glass meant the 'Noles simply had more looks at it. FSU pulled down 19 offensive rebounds and forced 15 turnovers, allowing Florida State 18 more field goal attempts.

Florida State led by eight after two Caleb Mills free throws with about four and a half minutes left, but the Seminoles went on to miss 7 of 8 shots and Paolo Banchero led the Blue Devil charge back, scoring or assisting on 11 of Duke's final 12 points in regulation. Duke took a two-point lead itself on a lob from Banchero to Mark Williams that Williams dunked with 30.3 seconds remaining. But the Seminoles forced overtime when RayQuan Evans floated a layup high off the glass with 1.4 seconds left.

The two teams went back-and-forth again in overtime, with Mills draining a 3-pointer to put the Seminoles up 77-76 with just under a minute left and Banchero swiping the lead right back with two free throws. Evans responded with two more with 12.3 seconds left. Duke's final possession saw the Blue Devils get the ball to Wendell Moore Jr., but John Butler blocked his attempt and a loose ball rolled away as time expired.

Mills paced Florida State with 18 points on 17 shots, while Banchero had 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for Duke in the loss. Duke played the final few minutes without five-star freshman Trevor Keels, who rolled his leg in the second half. Keels was helped off the court by his teammates, though he did put weight on the injured leg as he walked off. Keels had nine points before exiting; he entered the game averaging 12.1 points per contest.

The win marked Florida State's 13th consecutive overtime victory under Hamilton, the longest streak in Division I men's college basketball history. 

Florida State (11-5, 5-2 ACC) moves into second place in the conference by a half game, trailing only Miami. The Seminoles and Hurricanes clash in Coral Gables on Saturday. Duke (14-3, 4-2), meanwhile, will host Syracuse.
