MILWAUKEE – The NBA hit Julius Randle with a $50,000 fine for more than just shoving Cam Johnson in Friday's Suns-Knicks matchup at Footprint Center in Phoenix.

The league announced Sunday that Randle received such an hefty fine for "initiating an on-court altercation by forcefully shoving Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson, making contact with a game official in his attempt to get at Johnson, and for his noncompliance with an NBA investigation."

Johnson received a technical foul as well as he pushed Randle in the back in reaction to the way Randle tried to box him out late in the third quarter.

The Knicks forward responded by getting in Johnson's face and shoving him. After video review, Randle received two technical fouls that led to an automatic ejection.

Johnson stayed in the game, finished with a career-high 38 points and hit a 31-footer at the buzzer to stun the Knicks 115-114. The Suns and Knicks have completed their home-away series with Phoenix taking both games.

The Suns forward was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Bucks with a right quad contusion suffered in Friday's win after taking a knee to the thigh from Knicks center Mitchell Robinson, who was contesting a shot.

Johnson didn't make the trip to Milwaukee for the rematch of last year's NBA Finals the Suns lost in six after taking a 2-0 series lead.
