Christian Eriksen scores minutes into return for Denmark after terrifying collapse in June

Christian Eriksen officially returned to the pitch for Denmark on Saturday for the first time since his terrifying collapse last year, and he didn’t waste any time.

Eriksen entered the friendly against the Netherlands at halftime in Amsterdam on Saturday night, and scored just two minutes later.

The Netherlands won the match 4-2.

Eriksen collapsed during Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland in June due to cardiac arrest. The match was suspended and Eriksen was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent a procedure and now has a heart starter.

The 30-year-old was cleared to start training with Denmark again earlier this year, and said that he hoped to play with the team at the World Cup in Qatar this fall. He also signed a deal with Brentford FC in January to finish out the season with the Premier League club.

His goal on Saturday marks his first anywhere since he scored for Inter Milan nearly a year ago. He had an assist for Brentford on Saturday in their win against Burnley, too.
