NFL training camp 2022: Ravens make Justin Tucker highest-paid kicker with $24 million extension

Justin Tucker is now (rightfully) the NFL's highest-paid kicker.

The Baltimore Ravens gave Tucker a four-year, $24 million extension, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The team officially announced the deal as well without disclosing the contract terms.

Tucker's new contract also comes with $17.5 million in guaranteed money, which puts him, at worst, second in the NFL in career earnings for a kicker at $51.07 million — behind Sebastian Janikowski's $53.28 million career earnings, per Spotrac.

Considering Tucker's production over his 10-year career, though, he has a good shot to clear Janikowski's mark and become the highest-paid kicker in league history. He's been to five Pro Bowls — including three consecutively — and is a five-time first-team All-Pro as well.

Tucker has the highest career field-goal percentage in the NFL with a 91.061 conversation rate since 2012, and he's coming off a year he hit a league-high 94.6 percent of his field goals and 100 percent of his extra points. He also nailed a 66-yard game-winning field goal against the Detroit Lions this past year, which set an NFL record.

Tucker's extension comes on the heels of Chris Boswell's four-year, $20 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this offseason. Now, Tucker retakes the top spot as the league's highest-paid kicker.
