Three Major Programs ‘Actively Recruiting’ Bronny James, per Report

On Friday, ESPN reported Bronny James was being “pursued” by UCLA, USC, Michigan, Ohio State and Oregon, among other elite college programs. However, only Ohio State, Oregon and USC are “actively recruiting” the four-star guard, according to On3.com.

There is mutual interest between James and USC, per the report. Bronny, who is the son of Lakers star LeBron James, is set to start his senior year at Sierra Canyon in Los Angeles during the fall.

During the summer, however, he has taken his talents to Europe while on an AAU international tour that includes his younger brother, Bryce. Bronny could become eligible for the NBA draft as soon as 2024. LeBron has publicly stated that he would like a chance to play alongside his eldest son in the NBA on several occasions.

His father is originally from Akron, Ohio, and his favorite team is the Buckeyes. Additionally, the family has a connection with the Ducks because of Nike. Oregon is Nike’s flagship program and the company’s co-founder and chairman, Phil Knight, attended the school and remained very close to the program. LeBron was signed to Nike even before he ever played in an NBA game.
