Jeremiah Armstead turned to basketball to help him through a period in high school when his family of four was unable to find housing, sometimes sleeping on the beach in their car. Now his passion is taking him to the Final Four. Armstead is the first player from a historically Black college or university or NAIA school to receive the Perry Wallace Most Courageous Award from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
