The Los Angeles Lakers’ trade-centric makeover continued Thursday with a deal for former Orlando lottery pick Mo Bamba in exchange for Patrick Beverley, a future second-round pick and cash.

Bamba is a solid interior defender and is averaging 1.0 bpg this season and 1.4 bpg for his career. His addition to the Lakers paired with the reported move to pick up Jarred Vanderbilt from Utah in a three-team trade gives Los Angeles additional size and heft in the middle as it makes a Play-In Tournament push.
The Magic are not expected to keep Beverley, said the person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition anonymity because the trade did not yet have league approval.
