Caitlin Clark Records Historic Triple-Double to Lead Iowa to Final Four

Caitlin Clark and Iowa are Final Four bound.

The superstar guard led the charge for the Hawkeyes as they cruised to a 97–83 victory against Louisville in the Elite Eight on Sunday night. It'll be the program's first trip to the Final Four since 1993. 

It was a historic night for Clark, who became the first player in women's NCAA tournament history to record a 40-point triple-double. Her performance also made her the first to record a 30-point triple-double during the Big Dance. 

The 21-year-old ended the night with 41 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists in what was an all-around dominant outing in one of the biggest games of her career. 

Clark shot an efficient 11-of-19 from the field on Sunday night, including 8-of-14 from three-point range. It was her third time topping the 40-point mark this season. 

The junior also became the first player in Division I history with multiple 35-point triple doubles, according to ESPN Stats and Info, having recorded two such games this year alone.

Iowa will be back in the Final Four for the first time in 30 years and just the second time in program history, largely due to yet another historic evening from their superstar guard. 

The Hawkeyes are slated to face the winner of the Elite Eight matchup between No. 1 South Carolina and No. 2 Maryland.
