UFC fighter Tony Ferguson arrested on DUI charge after late-night crash

Former champion UFC fighter Tony Ferguson was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after a three-vehicle accident, police tell a Los Angeles television station.

According to KABC-TV, police say Ferguson was driving a Chevy Silverado pickup around 2 a.m. when he crashed into two parked cars outside a Hollywood nightclub, turning the truck on its side.

Ferguson, the former UFC interim lightweight champion, was arrested on the scene.

A police spokeswoman told MMA Junkie there were two occupants inside the truck when it overturned, but fire department responders were able to pull them out without major injuries.

When reached Sunday by MMA Junkie, Ferguson’s management team declined comment.

Tony Ferguson lost to Nate Diaz during UFC 279 at T-Mobile Arena in September, 2022.

Ferguson beat Kevin Lee in 2017 for the interim UFC lightweight title, but was later stripped of the belt when he couldn't defend his title due to injury. However, he has lost his last five fights, the last of which was to Nate Diaz in September.
