ESPN, Wendi Nix Part Ways After 17 Years

Wendi Nix, a 17-year media veteran at ESPN, has departed the network, marking another prominent longtime figure to exit the sports mogul.

“Exactly 17 years ago, I walked into ESPN wide-eyed and excited. This week, I walk out the same way. Grateful, but equally excited about the next chapter. To be continued… #ESPN” Nix wrote on Instagram.

Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post noted that while ESPN laid off a cast of about 20 individuals on the air earlier this summer, the situation with Nix was different. Her contract was up with the network, and it simply was not renewed. She was not laid off.

Nix had been hosting College Football Live for ESPN, but has been replaced by Kelsey Riggs, who announced on her own personal Instagram page earlier this week that she would be hosting the show. Riggs has been with the network since 2019, and has hosted SportsCenter along with various college sports shows for ACC Network.
