The 44th Ryder Cup descends upon Rome on Friday with the European team seeking revenge from its blowout loss in 2021. Team USA secured the 19-9 victory in 2021 after a strong showing from its stars. The Americans led 11-5 heading into Sunday and won consecutive home Ryder Cups for the first time since 1979 and 1983. However, Team USA. hasn't won a Ryder Cup on European soil in 30 years.

Despite the historic drought, the Americans are listed as the -105 favorites (risk $105 to win $100) according to the latest 2023 Ryder Cup odds. Team Europe is listed as the +100 underdog, while a tie would return +1100. There are plenty of ways to bet on the Ryder Cup 2023, but before you lock in your 2023 Ryder Cup picks, be sure to see the best bets and predictions from SportsLine's Mike McClure

McClure's proprietary golf model has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up more than $9,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. And at the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scottie Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, the model included Nick Taylor in its best bets to win the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. That bet hit at +7000, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned nearly $1,900. McClure's best bets also included Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 10 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has evaluated the 2023 Ryder Cup odds and locked in his best bets. Head to SportsLine now to see the top picks and predictions for the Ryder Cup 2023

Top 2023 Ryder Cup predictions

McClure's 2023 Ryder Cup best bets include backing Wyndham Clark to finish as the top USA rookie at +260 odds. The 29-year-old is set to make his first Ryder Cup appearance after a breakout season in 2023. Clark recorded his first PGA Tour victory in May at the Wells Fargo Championship. He then claimed his first major title in June at the U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club.

Clark enters the 2023 Ryder Cup ranked No. 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking after securing two wins and eight top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour in 2022-23. Clark's driving distance and putting stroke could make him a popular pick for captain Zach Johnson to include in this team event. Clark is averaging 313.5 yards per drive in 2022-23 while ranking 30th or better on tour in strokes gained: putting (0.370), putting average (1.727), and one-putt percentage (42.48%).

McClure is also targeting Ludvig Aberg to finish as the top European rookie at +165 odds. The 23-year-old Swedish golfer played in nine PGA Tour events this season, finishing as high as T-4 at the John Deere Classic. He also finished T-14 at the Wyndham Championship in his final PGA Tour appearance of the 2022-23 season in August.

Aberg has won the Ben Hogan Award in the last two years as the best college player in America while competing for Texas Tech University and he's won back-to-back Big 12 championships. He joins tremendous company as the first two-time winner since Jon Rahm, who is currently ranked No. 3 in the world. Aberg, who was No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking before turning pro in June, is one of just four rookies competing for Team Europe and has a strong chance at putting together the best performance of any of them. See the rest of McClure's best bets right here.
