Jets to Start Tim Boyle at QB in Week 12 vs. Dolphins, per Report

The Jets will start backup quarterback Tim Boyle and bench Zach Wilson in Friday’s game vs. the Dolphins, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Monday.

Wilson was benched late in Sunday’s 32–6 loss to the Bills. He completed just seven of his passes for 81 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. This will be the first game Wilson hasn’t started in since Week 1 when Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles on the first drive.

Wilson didn’t complete a single pass to a wide receiver on Sunday, a fact that left Jets coach Robert Saleh speechless when he was asked about it after the game.

Boyle made his 2023 season debut on Sunday when he came in for Wilson. He completed 7-of-14 passes for 33 yards and threw one interception during the loss.

Veteran quarterback Tim Boyle will start for the New York Jets on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

As he continues to recover from his Achilles tear, Rodgers could potentially return for the team’s Christmas Eve game vs. the Commanders.

It’s unclear whether the Jets and Saleh plan to have Boyle remain starter past Friday’s game. Trevor Siemian will act as backup to Boyle instead of Wilson, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
