CeeDee Lamb goes off for three touchdowns in Pro Bowl Games
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is fresh off of the strongest season of his NFL career to date, being selected to his third consecutive Pro Bowl following his impressive showing. And at this year’s Pro Bowl games, he kept his hot streak going.

Lamb secured the hat trick during the Pro Bowl’s flag football game, scoring three touchdowns to help the NFC defeat the AFC 64-59 on Sunday in Orlando Florida.

Check out Lamb’s third touchdown catch of the day, thrown by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield in the third quarter, below.

Miami Dolphins teammates Tua Tagovailova and Tyreek Hill connected to score the first touchdown of the game to take the early lead. But NFC East rivals Lamb and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts would team up to respond and score. With Hurts finding Lamb on a 26-yard touchdown pass, which was followed by a D’Andre Swift two-point conversion to give the NFC the early 7-6 lead.

Hurts would find Lamb again for his second touchdown catch of the game. But later in the game when Lamb tried to connect on a pass to Hurts for a trick play, it wasn’t as successful, as Hurts took a tumble in one of the most hilarious moments of the Pro Bowl Games.

Lamb notched career highs in receptions, yardage, and touchdowns this season in his fourth year in the NFL. He ended the year with a league-leading 135 catches, 1,749 yards, and 12 touchdowns, also racking up 113 rushing yards and four scores on the ground.

After earning Second-Team All-Pro honors in 2022, Lamb secured his firs career First-Team All-Pro selection in 2023. Establishing himself as one of the top receivers in the NFL and in Dallas Cowboys history, breaking the franchise single-season receptions and receiving yards record and surpassing another icon that wore No. 88 in the process, Michael Irvin.

Along with his quarterback Dak Prescott, Lamb was also selected as one of five finalists for the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award, joining Tyreek Hill, Lamar Jackson, and Christian McCaffrey.

The duo was arguably the best quarterback-wide receiver duo in the entire NFL for the 2023 season, but unfortunately the two could not translate their regular season success to the postseason. With the Cowboys falling to the Green Bay Packers 48-32 in the NFC Wild Card Round of the playoffs despite Lamb ending the game with nine catches for 110 yards.

Aaron Rodgers Close to Signing with This NFL Team

As the NFL free agency period approaches, the New York Giants are reportedly closing in on a significant acquisition to address their need at the quarterback position. After moving on from Daniel Jones last season, an answer is needed to enter next season. Aaron Rodgers is said to be in advanced talks with the Giants, potentially setting the stage for a significant shakeup in the league. NFL Rumors: Aaron Rodgers to New York Giants? According to Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com, who spoke on The Pat McAfee Show, the discussions have reached a stage where Rodgers’ arrival at the Meadowlands before the start of the new league year would not surprise insiders. “From my understanding right now… they are pretty significantly down a road where they are negotiating to the point where, if Rodgers ends up a Giant before the start of the league year, it would not be a shock to people in this area and at the Meadowlands,” Stapleton reported. The potential move could answer the Giants’ ongoing quarterback questions, especially as they look likely to miss out on top draft prospects like Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. Rodgers, 41, is past his peak performance years but is still seen as a valuable leader and playmaker. NFL Rumors: Aaron Rodgers Drawing Interest Despite his age, Rodgers demonstrated robust performance in the previous season, posting a passer rating of 90.5 with 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions over 17 games. This level of play indicates that he still can significantly influence games. “My understanding is, yes, they have talked about what it would take to get Aaron [to the Giants],” Stapleton added, noting that “from a football fit, this is something that they’re seriously considering.” Rodgers also has other suitors, with teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and the Tennessee Titans possibly viewing him as a bridge quarterback who could lead while they develop younger talents. However, for the Giants, who are projected to potentially address their long-term quarterback needs in the 2026 NFL Draft, securing Rodgers even for a short stint could be a strategic move to stabilize and inject experience into their lineup.

Lakers' JJ Redick Makes Key Announcement on Rui Hachimura

Very quietly, Rui Hachimura has been putting up his second back-to-back terrific season with the Lakers, starting for most of the season at the forward spot alongside LeBron James. They're not a conventional duo at the position, but each plays with some muscle and heft that balances out a lack of pure height, and their defensive versatility is a key for the Lakers' success. Hachimura, who came over in a steal of a trade with the Wizards in 2023, is averaging 13.3 points and 5.2 rebounds, shooting 50.2% from the field and 41.0% from the 3-point line. He's started all 50 games in which he has appeared. But he was out of the lineup against the Knicks on Thursday, marking the fourth straight game he has missed with patellar tendinopathy in his left knee. The Lakers, obviously, need Hachimura back sooner rather than later. The team is traveling to Boston on Saturday, as part of a four-game, week-long road trip that also goes through Brooklyn, Milwaukee and Denver. It's a brutal trip--the Celtics are the defending champs and have the third-best record in the NBA, while the Bucks are fourth in the East and have won eight of their last nine. The Nuggets are in an essential tie with the Lakers for the No. 2 seed in the West, and are 12-3 in their last 15. So when will see Hachimura back in a Lakers uniform? Speaking before the Knicks game on Thursday, coach JJ Redick said that Hachimura will be re-evaluated on Friday. He is not likely to play on Saturday in Boston, but Redick was asked whether he would at least accompany the team on the trip. "Yes, likely, yes," Redick said (near the end of the above video). The Lakers would not take Hachimura on the trip if they were not intending on playing him in the coming four games. That, no doubt, is a good sign for the Lakers about his potential return.

Claressa Shields relinquishes WBO light heavyweight title, keeps heavyweight crown

Claressa Shields was compelled to relinquish one of her titles. She had to choose which of her WBO crowns to hold on to. The American boxer has opted to vacate her light heavyweight title while holding on to her heavyweight crown. “Regarding the WBO Female Light Heavyweight Division, be advised Claressa Shields has relinquished her WBO Light heavyweight title,” Gustavo Olivieri, President of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), posted on social media. “Per our rules, No WBO Champion may hold titles in two different weight divisions simultaneously. Therefore, Shields remains the champion in the heavyweight division,” read the post. The 29-year-old won by unanimous decision, dominating fellow American Danielle Perkins and knocking her down with a powerful right hand with seconds left in the 10th and final round. Claressa out-pointed Danielle Perkins early last month to claim all the belts in the highest category. Shields has also been undisputed world champion at middleweight and light-middleweight. "It feels unbelievable," said Shields, who improved her record to 16-0, via Reuters. "I had a really hard training camp. And just last Friday I tore my labrum in my left shoulder, so I wasn't able to use my good jab today." Besides, she became the first female boxer to attain undisputed status in three weight divisions. It was truly a notable accomplishment as the "GWOAT" dominated her opponent in front of a packed home fan-base at the Dort Financial Centre in Flint, Michigan. However, these accolades may not hold if the claims of failed drug test are substantiated Shields won the vacant WBO heavyweight title — and a couple of other vacant belts to become the undisputed heavyweight champion — on Feb, 2 with her unanimous decision over Danielle Perkins. "But I didn't want to call the fight off because I had asked God to give me a big fight in my hometown. He did that. So, I decided to keep going through with it. "I feel so happy. And shout out to my opponent, Danielle Perkins. Man, that girl was strong as hell," said Shields after the fight. The 29-year-old native of Flint, Mich., moved to 16-0 (3 KOs), and added to a career that has also included becoming undisputed twice at middleweight and once at junior middleweight, plus winning titles at 168lbs and 175lbs. Elsewhere, Shields tested positive for marijuana from a mouth swab test. However, Shields and her team are adamant she was the victim of secondhand smoke in the arena. Michigan’s athletic commission says Shields tested positive for marijuana after the Perkins fight. Though, Shields says she has never used marijuana — which is not a performance-enhancing drug — and suggested her positive test may have come from secondhand smoke in the arena or contact with other people on fight night. She has appealed her suspension, and the head of the Association of Boxing Commissions has criticized the Michigan commission. “On February 13, 2025, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, on behalf of the Unarmed Combat Commission, notified the WBC that an oral fluid sample collected from WBC World Champion Claressa Shields tested positive for the presence of marijuana [THC]. The Michigan Commission had collected a sample from Champion Shield after her February 2, 2025, title defence against Daniella Perkins,” noted a statement.

Canadiens Organization Announces Reinforcements Will Arrive Shortly to Boost the Offense

We had an interesting announcement from the Montreal Canadiens during General Manager Kent Hughes' press conference. He confirmed that reinforcements are coming to the offense, as forward Oliver Kapanen will immediately cross the ocean and join the organization once his season in Sweden is over. Please note that the SHL regular season ends in early March, so very soon. Thus, we will have to monitor the progress of Timra's roster in the coming days. If they are eliminated quickly, we could see Kapanen arrive in Quebec fairly soon. Montreal Canadiens: Oliver Kapanen will arrive as reinforcement as soon as his SHL season is over Here is the exact statement: 'Oliver Kapanen will be able to come help (the Montreal Canadiens or the Laval Rocket) once his season in Sweden is over.' This will be something to watch because, following the NHL trade deadline, we can officially say that the Habs have a big hole to fill at center. Owen Beck is currently playing the role of second-line center, and he's not doing too badly, but Martin St-Louis doesn't seem to have much confidence in him since Beck is only playing 7-8 minutes per game. Could Kapanen get his chance? This will be a situation to monitor once Timra is eliminated. It could happen fairly quickly. 'We also have Oliver Kapanen, and once his season is over, he will be available to come back and play here.' Kent Hughes This was mentioned during the press conference below: Oliver Kapanen could come help the Montreal Canadiens and/or the Laval Rocket. A story to follow!
