Welcome to FTW’s NASCAR Feud of the Week, where we provide a detailed breakdown of the latest absurd, funny and sometimes legitimate controversies and issues within the racing world.

During the NASCAR Xfinity Series' ToyotaCare 250 on Saturday at Richmond Raceway, driver Joey Gase got mad and pulled a move that would make Ricky Bobby proud.

After his car took some damage and spun out of the race, Gase must've thought fellow driver Dawson Cram was who made contact on the track and was responsible for his predicament. To retaliate, Gase ripped the bumper off of his No. 35 Chevrolet — a McGruff the Crime Dog-themed “Race Against Crime” car — walked down the track and hurled it at Cram's vehicle as it passed him.

While this is certainly not the first time that two drivers have ruffled each other's feathers, tearing the bumper off of your car and throwing it at a moving vehicle doesn't feel like the most proactive way to solve the problem. However, a possible Talladega Nights 2 now has some real-life material for inspiration.

The Fox Sports broadcast caught up with Gase after the bumper altercation to see why he, y'know, ripped part of his car off and threw it at someone. The driver said there was some history there between him and Cram that played into the fracas.

Whether you're as confused as we are at this whole ordeal or just enjoyed the mayhem, NASCAR fans had plenty of thoughts on what now must be known as "Ripped Bumpergate." What would McGruff think?
