Greg Norman Made a Ridiculous Claim About Handshakes He Received at the 2024 Masters

LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman, who never won the Masters during his career, was at Augusta National last week to support some of his league's players, including Bryson DeChambeau who fell apart over the weekend after leading after the first round.

Norman was seen on the grounds of the legendary course during Wednesday's practice round and then he bought a ticket through the secondary market for Thursday's first round.

LIV Golf is the Saudi-funded league that has driven the men's professional game into a state of chaos with many big names taking tons of cash to ditch the PGA Tour for a league that plays 54-hole tournaments with no cuts.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Norman made a laughable claim about his few days at Augusta saying, "My right hand is sore from shaking hands with each and every one of you as well as the hugs given to so many."

He added:

"The hundreds if not thousands of people, from the drivers, to the parking lot attendants, security guards, the servers in the concession stands (yes had my first Ham Cheese sandwich and Peach ice cream sandwich :-)), the guys who controlled the gallery cross walks, but most importantly to the patrons of @themasters thank you for your unanimous support. It was humbling, moving and I was taken back by your words of encouragement - “thank you for what you have done for golf” “don’t stop” “Love LIV” and the one that got to me personally and emotionally “welcome back.”

The LIV Tour will be back in action on April 26th when they tee off at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia. That should be just enough time for his hand to recover.
