The Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh have been named as the hosts for the 2026 NFL draft, the league announced Wednesday.

The 2025 NFL draft will be held at the Green Bay Packers' Lambeau Field.

Once a fixture in New York City, the NFL draft has used rotating host cities since 2015. Chicago hosted the draft in 2015 and 2016 before the league transitioned to changing the location every year.

The change has been nothing short of a success for the NFL and host cities, with fans traveling in droves to see players selected. Detroit set an all-time record with more than 700,000 fans attending the 2024 NFL draft. The draft produced an estimated $165 million in revenue for businesses in the city.

The Steelers submitted a bid in February to host the 2026 or 2027 draft. Rich Fitzgerald, the executive of Allegheny County, estimated the city of Pittsburgh would make nine figures on hosting the draft.

"We're estimating there'll be over 300 to 350,000 visitors that would come to Pittsburgh, putting an economic impact anywhere from 100 million to $150 million," Fitzgerald told Jenna Harner of Channel 11 Sports. "And that's I think being actually somewhat conservative."

Steelers owner Art Rooney II said earlier this month that Pittsburgh's chances of hosting the draft looked "good."
