He did, however, lead the Rams to a go-ahead touchdown in the final seconds:
He finished the day 24-of-38 for 224 yards and the touchdown to go along with the turnovers. While it could simply be a matter of him shaking off some rust from his absence, it also is a continuation of a trend from the 2023 preseason.
Bennett had thrown three interceptions across three games in that preseason. He only tossed a single touchdown during that stretch.
Fans took to social media to debate Bennett's viability as a true option and wonder if the Rams will sign another backup quarterback.

Bennett saw significant success during his collegiate career at Georgia, compiling an overall record of 29-3 and leading the program to national championships in 2022 and 2023.

He still has a few more preseason opportunities to make his case, but he will need to show vast improvement in order to earn his role as the primary backup.
