Mac McClung steals the show on State Farm All-Star Saturday Night by winning his 3rd consecutive AT&T Slam dunk title.
SAN FRANCISCO – The Bay Area is where Vince Carter famously signaled “it’s over” before he officially won the 2000 Slam Dunk contest.
Well, legend repeated itself 25 years later when Matt McClung took control of the AT&T Slam Dunk Contest on his very first attempt — soaring over a Kia — and never relinquished it.
And so it was Return Of The Mac once again for the Orlando Magic G Leaguer who took the trophy for the third straight year, which is a first for the contest. From his reverse dunk over the car McClung was simply too much for the overmatched competition.
Spurs rookie Stephon Castle reached the final round but McClung wrapped it up by dunking a pair of balls, one from the rim. McClung scored all 50s in the contest.
“It kind of feels like a blur,” McClung said. “It’s something I love doing. That’s where my creativity comes is I genuinely love this contest and I love to dunk.”
